Grrrr, we are Popeye and Olive Oyl of the new millennium! No matter how strong the sailor man is after swallowing that canned spinach, he is still my slave! Like Popeye so deeply in love with Olive Oyl, my hubby always humbles himself to avoid having unending arguments. And I, the not-so-skinny version of Olive, make sure that our kids will not look malnourished! Oh, love can be expressed in so many ways! You don’t have to be gentle always, a little drama can spice up your relationship. Or better, Do Kinky and Naughty Yearnings (DKNY) and Be Delicious!

If we were cartoon characters , my hubby and I would be Belle & Beast of Disney's "Beauty and the Beast". Not because of our physical appearances but because like Belle, my hubby says I soothe the "beast" in him with my gentleness and sweetness. He is often stressed at work (blood pressure sometimes reaching 190/130!!) but he says when he comes home at night, I calm him down and it feels like everything is sweet & rosy.

I think we can be compared to Lilo and Stitch. I have been with the love of my life, my Michael, for three years, seven months and still counting. I call my boyfriend "Chi" meaning that he is my life force, while he calls me his "Yang", the goodness in his life. We brand ourselves Chiyang. Hehe. =) Even amidst our boyfriend-girlfriend relationship, we consider each other our ultimate bestfriend to whom we share all our joys and our dilemmas. In that way, we are most like Lilo and Stitch who are great BFFs. I think that it is very healthy and at the same time very sweet to know that your boyfriend is also your bestfriend whom you can surely lean on come what may. It gives me a nice feeling to know that someone is always there for me, whether it be good times or bad times. True enough, he has proven his worth since even during trying times, he has never left me. When I have to celebrate because of successes, he is there to celebrate with me. If I need to rant about something or someone, he is there to listen. The same is true in his case. I have always been there for him. I also believe that we help each other improve our personalities and attitudes as well. Lilo was immature initially while Stitch was too rash. But eventually, their personalities grew for the better. Just like Lilo, I became more mature when I got to be with Chi. On the other hand, like Stitch, Chi became more responsible and optimistic. =) Yes, we are so LILO-y and STITCH-y. =)

If I were to compare myself and my hubby to partnered cartoon characters then without batting an eyelash, he would have to be Mr. Incredible and I would have to be Elastigirl (a.k.a. Bob & Helen Parr). Elastigirl and I have a lot of things in common, and these are: a loving mother of 3; a dedicated wife; often takes a "supermom" role, and; will do everything just to hold a our family together. I may not have the the physical ability to extend my limbs, muscles or entire body to great lengths just like Elastigirl, but emotionally, I have learned to stretch my patience the longest mile that I could for my family. Elastigirl is a lot of things to her family, she could turn herself into a parachute, a boat, etc., while I could be a cook, a teacher, a doctor, a performer, and a lot more to my family. Just like Mr. Incredible, my hubby knows what counts most in life -- his family. He knows that his real source of power is our family. He's a tough-guy outside but he has his share of soft spots, too. He's dedicated and committed to his craft and is a responsible father to our children. But what makes him truly a Mr. Incredible is the fact that he considers me as "his greatest adventure."

We can be Nobita and Shizuka of Doraemon. Just like Nobita and Shizuka we started out as friends and eventually developed into something. My love is like Nobita,he is not that smart and does foolish or stupid things at times. I can be Shizuka, who will always be around him to help and guide him whenever he needs me.

My husband is like Lightning Mc Queen he revs up for a big race when it comes to his career, the competition is tough but he knows he can win. And I am the sleek Porsche sporty car Sally who can turn quite a few heads. Even though she can go fast, she enjoys life in the slow lane. Mc Queen and Sally might be totally opposite but they have one thing in common, and that is LOVE which blossoms through their friendship. And just like Sally, I was strucked by my husband’s lightning!
