WMN Stylist Series: Mela de Luna
WMN peeks once more into the lives of fashion stylists, itching to know if what we see in their work carries over into their lifestyles as well.
By Rica de Ramos
Other stylists featured in the series:
Jasmine Mendiola
Pam Quinones
Jenni Epperson
Garovs Garovillo
When dressing to battle the fashion jungle, this stylist and editor sticks to the classic principle of a white shirt, jeans topped off with accessories. She adds a dash of sexy, messy hair to complete her look.
Name: Mela de Luna

1. What is your personal style?
“My trademark style is Boho/Edgy/Sexy/Chic. Sometimes I like to be super edgy and just wear monochromatic colors and on some days, colorful and bohemian. It really depends on my mood. My hair is also important; I love to play with different styles but I always like the messy, wavy look."
2. What’s your trademark style?
“When I style women I would like them to look feminine, stylish, edgy with a little bit of sex appeal. When I style men, I like them to look sophisticated, simple with a bit of an edge as well."
3. What do you usually wear to work?
“When I have shoots I have to be really comfortable and what I wear should enable me to move around easily. Jeans and a white tank top or shirt do it for me, plus cute accessories for a little bit of color. It’s simple and sexy."
4. Who’s your muse?
“I don’t have a muse but I adore the style and beauty of Kate Moss and Carla Bruni, and would love to dress them up if given the chance."

Mela believes in understanding and knowing one’s body. "My advice is, do not be afraid to try new things or new trends. Don’t overanalyze what you wear 'cos it will show if you are trying too hard and that’s not cool. It is also about knowing what looks good on you in terms of cuts and silhouettes and when you find it-stick to it. And one last piece of advice: when you got it, flaunt it."
