The American Idol craze has invaded dozens of countries worldwide for the past 12 weeks and now it’s nearly over. As one of the most talented and celebrated seasons of Idol comes to end-why not go out with a bang? Throw your very own American Idol Viewing Party and you can be sure this finale will be the best one yet!

Here are a few basic tips to help you through the planning process:

Theme. It all starts here and in this case, it’s American Idol.

Number of Guests. It’s all up to you! Invite your friends, family, neighbors, and fellow fans of American Idol. Just make sure you can accommodate them all.

Venue.The most preferable venue for your viewing party would be a fun and comfortable area where you and your guests will be able to move around and have fun in.

A great idea would be to rent a karaoke room so you can all take turns singing your hearts out before and after the results are announced. If you can’t get hold of a room, you can always set up your own karaoke place at home. Just keep in mind how many guests you’re planning to invite and what activities you’ve planned for the night. A nice, relaxed place to watch the show and a bar or table to serve food and drinks on are all you really need to have a great party.

Food and Drinks When it comes to food and drinks, it’s always a good idea to plan ahead. Because your guests are coming with the sole purpose of having fun and watching the show, it would be a good idea to have the food ready and waiting by the time your guests arrive. Have fun with the theme and go with an all-American menu. Just make sure not to serve anything too messy!

Party Activities. Create a photo wall by placing a large American Idol banner on a wall by the entrance so your guests can take pictures and feel like idol hopefuls even before they’ve entered. You can also make your own version of golden tickets to Hollywood and give them out to your guests. And since cheering for your favorite idol is a monumental part of the American Idol experience, plan an activity where your guests can create posters for their favorite idols-they’ll definitely come in handy when it’s time to watch the show!

Simply by keeping these guidelines in mind and adding a few of your own American Idol touches, you’ll be on your way to creating a successful American Idol Viewing party even non-fans of the show are going to love!
